I grew up hearing about my parents’ love story. How he’d fought for her when she’d refused to fight for herself. The way she’d fought for him when she’d feared that all was lost.

I wanted that.

But for some reason, I’d always imagined that my love story would be different. That it would be easy.

It wasn’t.

No, our story was intense, and convoluted, and frustrating.

But it was ours.

In the end it all came down to one thing…

I’d loved him since the very beginning.

Even when he wasn’t mine to love.

Craving Lily follows the early years of a young Lily who is growing up with the loss of her sight. She’s an interesting character who doesn’t let her blindness quash her spirit. In a way, it protects her from a lot of the goings on surrounding her. I was thrown initially by the slow burn MC romance driving this story but I was so caught up in the characters I just enjoyed the story.

What struck me several times was the respect Leo showed to Lily, her father and the club. Usually it’s the other way around, not because respect is being held back, but the timing to incur the least amount of drama. I smirk as I even think of lessening the drama in an MC romance because that’s part of what I enjoy in them. Drama for the sake of ticking a box is not what I look for and I am always excited to get a book that travels down the less trodden path.

So I loved the characters, enjoyed the slow burn and appreciated the story, what held me back from loving this book as much as the others in the Aces’ Sons series? I wanted more LOL. Yes more time with the characters after they got together but I also wanted more of the time when they were apart. Am I greedy? Of course, I searched high and low to see if I could find another book to read next in this series. While I didn’t find any, I do believe there will be more written.

The other struggle I had was reading the prelude which depicted a terrifying scene not again visited for a considerable time into the story. While I soon put the incident off to the side, when I did come across it I felt we were told more than shown for certain aspects of it. If I could have read the initial information in sequence with the timeline depicted in the book it would have been easier to process. .

I can’t finish without giving a special mention to the secondary characters especially her family and her best friend Rose. The stand out, heart melting scene in the story was the beautiful father daughter chat about how to not let frustrations in life turn you into someone you don’t want to be. His advice on how she could expel her energy were from a father who gave her unbiased, gender neutral advice that made me smile.

This has been another great addition to the series, full of challenges depicted in a matter of fact way. The line that comes to mind is life happens or words to that effect. And when life happened to Leo and Lily they worked through it as friends do. Well, sometimes, other times not so but the strong foundations their friendship was built on withstood the knocks they encountered.

Craving Lily The Aces' Sons edition by Nicole Jacquelyn Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I have liked everyone of the Ace's books that I have read and this one is no different. My only question is, wasn't Leo married to a Russian girl at one point? Why didn't this book ever address that?
All I can say is...ahh I want more of Lily and Leo!! Their story was sweet yet heartbreaking but all mended up by the end. I really loved their chemistry together.
I had read every one of the Aces book and they are all good reads , most book series dull down after a few books and they are excruciating to read ,,,,This is not the case I loved this book I loved seeing some characters mature it was very nice ,this was a must read in this series Thank You
One of my favorite authors has done it again. Love this series. I would totally recommend this book. If you haven't read the series I would start at the beginning so that you have a better understanding of the story. Only two things I want to ask for this series to be on Audible and more of Lily And Leo. Great book
I love this Series This writer gets your Emotions working just when you think that smooth sailing is on the horizon something steps in to say .....Not yet... mote Sh!t has to go down before the HEA.... She gets it right every time , but the book ended too quickly for me , I could of kept reading ... Doesn't mean I did love it cause I did .... Fan Bloody Tastic...
I wish the author would of paired Leo with someone else. I do not like the fact that he is basically dating his sister in law. I also wanted him to be a bit like Dragon, he seemed so wussy like at times. The hot sex scenes were missing from this book. I would think that a guy who was painted as a man whore for 3 books, Leo, appeared to be virgin. Lily was a well written character, I loved her bond with Casper. Overall, this book was not as engaging as Cam & Trix's book, but it is still a great read.
I really enjoyed the Aces series and this next generation isn't disappointing at all. Leo and Lily have a love that spans through adolescence to adulthood but because of their age difference a good portion of it feels unrequited to Lily. They were such a sweet couple - Leo was not your typical posturing alpha-hole, and while she had her moments, Lily was no annoying drama queen. I rooted for them and loved their HEA.
